We all go through them. I’ve been continuing to go through a couple at the same time. As I said in my last blog post, two of my painting mentors had died over the last couple of years, and it’s really been tough to get back into my studio again. Carol Cooper helped me find my voice as an abstract painter, and she then introduced me to the work of William “Skip” Lawrence.  Skip Lawrence took over as my mentor, and I painted with him almost every summer in Maine for the next 15 years. What an amazing teacher, artist, and friend he was to me.  I can hear him now telling me to get my butt back in my studio and paint. Alright Skip!! I’m doing just that! I also have a plan that I’m working on that has to do with what I’ve been spending my time on these last few years. I’ve been training and working as an Energy Healer, and I’ve been trying to figure out how to combine my art with my energy work. I think I’ve figured it out: Soul Paintings.

So, transitions are finally happening for me-good ones. Be on the lookout for some new art under the title of Soul Paintings, and I haven’t forgotten to include paintings from my last trip to Scotland. I’m also preparing for another trip. I have a daughter that’s getting married in France this coming October, and I’ll be combining her wedding with some art trips in Paris. I hear they’ve got some pretty good art there.

Until we meet again, I wish you all the best and happy painting!

Catherine
